Commitment to Care in Putnam County

Nestled just off I-64 in Scott Depot, Marshall Health – Teays Valley is more than a health care facility, it’s a hub for advanced, community-centered care serving Putnam County and beyond.

Since opening in 2017, the Teays Valley campus at 300 Corporate Center Drive has grown into two modern care facilities offering a wide range of primary and specialty services, including neuroscience, cardiology, dermatology, orthopaedics and more. With onsite lab and imaging services, as well as the 2025 relocation of Marshall Toxicology (providing advanced drug testing solutions across southern West Virginia) the campus offers a true one-stop destination for comprehensive care.

Marshall Health Network’s pediatrics team in Teays Valley delivers care that grows with families, from well-child visits and immunizations to specialized services like sports medicine and developmental-behavioral pediatrics, which supports children with ADHD, autism and behavioral disorders

“Living and working in Putnam County is truly special,”said Susanna Kapourales, M.D., Marshall Health Network pediatrician and assistant professor at the Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine. “This community has become home for my family — a place built on trust, connection and heart.”

That sense of connection reflects Marshall Health Network’s mission — advancing health, inspiring hope, serving you. Long before the Teays Valley campus opened, Marshall OB/GYN and Pediatrics had been caring for local families since the late 1990s. Over time, services expanded to include family medicine, internal medicine and specialties such as gastroenterology, pulmonology and rheumatology, ensuring access to top-tier care close to home.

From the clinic to school events to Friday night football games, many Marshall Health Network providers live and work in Putnam County, strengthening the bonds between care teams and the families they serve.

“We continue to invest in this community because we believe high-quality health care should be available close to home,” said Beth L. Hammers, M.B.A., chief engagement officer for Marshall Health Network. “Our commitment goes beyond delivering care — it’s about building a healthier future for the families of Putnam County.”

That commitment is reflected in every new service and specialist added and every patient served, making Marshall Health – Teays Valley a place where medicine meets mission and community comes first.
