Marshall Health Network Foundations Gala raises support for advanced heart care across the region
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – More than 700 community leaders, donors and supporters gathered Saturday evening as Marshall Health Network Foundations hosted its sold-out annual Gala, presented by Fifth Third Bank, raising more than $600,000 to help expand access to life-saving advanced cardiovascular care.
Held May 16 at the Lawrence County Fairgrounds in Proctorville, Ohio, this year’s “Western Sky” themed event featured immersive décor, live performances, a live auction and special moments highlighting the impact of philanthropy on patient care throughout Marshall Health Network.
Proceeds from the Gala will benefit the St. Mary’s Regional Heart Institute. Support from this year’s event will help continue outfitting a second hybrid operating room at Marshall Health Network – St. Mary’s Medical Center, enhancing the ability to perform complex procedures while improving patient safety, staff efficiency and overall cost-effectiveness.
The event comes as the St. Mary’s Regional Heart Institute recently celebrated its 20,000th open-heart procedure, a milestone reflecting decades of specialized cardiac care and innovation serving patients throughout West Virginia, eastern Kentucky and southern Ohio.
“Community support plays a vital role in helping us advance access to innovative, high-quality care throughout our region,” said Matt James, vice president of foundations for Marshall Health Network. “The incredible support shown by our sponsors and community during this year’s Gala will directly impact patients and families by helping strengthen cardiovascular services and expand the capabilities of our care teams.”
