Marshall Health Network welcomes new surgeons

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall Health Network welcomes Andrew J. Weaver, M.D., and Agon Kajmolli, M.D., to its surgical team at Cabell Huntington Hospital and St. Mary’s Medical Center.  

Weaver brings his expertise in managing complex surgical emergencies to his role as director of trauma for Marshall Surgery. Weaver earned his medical degree from Ross University in Miramar, Florida, followed by general surgery residency at the Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine. He then went on to complete advanced fellowships in Chicago in surgical critical care at the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and trauma at John H. Stroger Jr., Hospital of Cook County/Cook County Trauma & Burn Unit. Weaver is certified by the American Board of Surgery with subspecialty certification in Surgical Critical Care. He is also a member of the American College of Surgeons, the Society of Critical Care Medicine and the American and Eastern Associations for the Surgery of Trauma. 

Kajmolli is a highly skilled general surgeon with specialized expertise in minimally invasive surgery and complex hernias. He earned his medical degree from Trinity School of Medicine in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and completed his general surgery residency at Westchester Medical Center/New York Medical College in Valhalla, New York. He also pursued fellowships in medical biotechnology at the University of Ottawa, Canada and research in surgical innovations at New York Medical College in New York. 

Both Kajmolli and Weaver also serve as assistant professors of surgery at the Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine.
