Marshall Orthopaedics returns as official sports medicine provider for the Charleston Dirty Birds

CHARLESTON, W.Va. – Marshall Orthopaedics, a member of Marshall Health Network, returns for a second season as the official sports medicine provider for the Charleston Dirty Birds baseball team.
“Last year we witnessed Marshall Health Network’s dedication to our athletes at every level. We look forward to another great season,” said Andy Shea, owner and CEO of the Charleston Dirty Birds.
Marshall Health Orthopaedic Surgeon Chad D. Lavender, M.D., continues to spearhead comprehensive sports medicine services with on-field support by certified athletic trainer Andrew Fitzgerald, A.T.C. Through this partnership, players also have access to a team of highly-skilled Marshall Health Network physicians, athletic trainers and physical therapists using state-of-the-art techniques and technology.
“Our goal this season is the same as the last – to keep the players in peak health so they can perform their best,” said Lavender, an assistant professor of orthopaedic surgery at the Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine.
