Marshall Orthopaedics to serve as official sports medicine provider for the Tri-State Coal Cats a second season

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Tri-State Coal Cats baseball team has renewed its partnership with Marshall Orthopaedics, a member of Marshall Health Network, as its official sports medicine provider for the 2025 season.
“Our team had a great experience with Marshall Orthopaedics last season,” said Christian Palmer, general manager of the Tri-State Coal Cats. “Their high-quality care and commitment to our players made a big impact, and we’re thrilled to have them back.”
Marshall Orthopaedics will provide comprehensive sports medicine services to the Tri-State Coal Cats under the leadership of Marshall Health Orthopaedic Surgeon Dana S. Lycans, M.D., and on-the-field coverage by certified athletic trainer Bryan Booth, A.T.C. Players will once again have access to Marshall Health Network’s experienced team of physicians, athletic trainers and physical therapists who use the latest techniques and technology in sports medicine care.
“Marshall Orthopaedics is proud to continue supporting baseball in Huntington,” said Lycans, who also serves as an assistant professor of orthopaedic surgery at the Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine. “Our goal remains the same—keeping Coal Cats athletes in top shape all season long.”
The Coal Cats start their season on the road Thursday, June 5, against the Elizabethton River Riders. Their home opener is Monday, June 9, at Jack Cook Field in Huntington against the Pulaski River Turtles. For tickets and more information, visit www.appyleague.com/tri-state.
